Your Dream DESIGN Clients Are Out There. Let’s Make Sure They Find You.

The designers I work with all have big hearts for their clients, as well as big goals and dreams for the kind of business they want to build. No matter what those look like, it all hinges on this: getting visible to the right people and earning their trust. And that’s exactly what we do here.

At Deb Mitchell Writing, we help interior designers get found by the clients they actually want to work with and earn their trust long before they ever hop on a call. We dive deep into your positioning, messaging, and visibility to see what’s working, what’s not, where you need to show up, and exactly what you need to say.

It’s not about shouting the loudest; it’s about building a reliable, repeatable marketing system that gets you visible and trusted so you can focus on doing the design work you really love.

Ready to see what clear, trust-building messaging and smart marketing can do for your design business? Let’s talk.

Let's Talk

If you’d told college-age me that one day I’d be deep in the world of interior design, I’d have said, “Well, that tracks… sort of.”

Back then, I was torn between studying interior design or literature. I chose literature,  a path that ultimately landed me a degree in persuasive writing and a bit of journalism, with a little French and art history thrown in for fun (and let’s be honest, for charm points at dinner parties).

The design piece circled back years later when I landed an in-house communications manager position with a luxury interior design firm in Charlotte, NC. Handling this designer’s potential client calls gave me a crash course in what homeowners do (and don’t!) understand about the value of professional design. I developed language that resonated with them about what their investment would do for them and why working with the right designer was so important. These conversations, along with other messaging I crafted for the firm helped spark the connections that became beautiful designer/client relationships.

Today, I do the same thing for talented, big-hearted interior designers everywhere as I help them get out of their own heads and into the inboxes, neighborhoods, and hearts of the clients they really want to work with.

As one of those designers, you’ve done all the hard things: you’ve honed your craft, delivered jaw-dropping results, and invested in beautiful photography. You may have even tried a few marketing tactics that half-worked. But the truth is that when it comes to marketing your design business, you’re not an expert. And you shouldn’t have to try to be.

My job is to be your expert, strategic partner who knows how to position you, give you the words that earn trust, and help you get found in all the places your dream clients are looking for a designer just like you.

So if you’re ready to stop feeling invisible and start doing the design work you really love, I’d be beyond honored to help you get there.

Here’s to your success!

My clients don’t just want help with what to say. They want clarity around who they’re speaking to, how to position themselves to attract higher-end clients, and how to finally feel confident being seen.

That’s why I bring SO MUCH MORE than just copywriting to the table. You’ll leave with:

• Messaging that actually resonates

• Positioning that matches your pricing and goals

• Visibility strategies that don’t make you cringe

A FEW KIND WORDS FROM OUR CLIENTS…

“Do you know how hard it is to write about yourself and your business? Deb made it easy - she really got to know me and was able to convey everything to our audience. We had a great experience and I’ve even gotten more leads with the updated content.”

— Suzy Watkins, Sterling Design Group

“Working with Deb was an incredible experience! Her process was thoughtful, collaborative, and truly insightful (plus she is one of the sweetest and kindest people ever). She acted as my strategic partner who understands how to communicate value to the right audience. 100% worth the investment!”

— Melissa Fields, Shades of Gray Design Studio

“I hired Deb before I jumped into a whole re-branding and website creation effort so she could help me hone in on and articulate what really sets me apart in the industry. She listened to me, saw me, and reflected my company back to me from a different perspective. She gave me the building blocks and language I needed before I did anything else. Highly recommend!”
